On Sunday, July 23, 2006, the San Mateo Fire Fighters’ Association took part in the annual San Mateo Festa Italiana to benefit PARCA by cooking sausages and hotdogs. The crowds of people were noticeably lower this year due to the heat wave that hit the Bay Area. But as usual our Brothers and Sisters of the SMFFA stepped up in force and braved the heat!!! According to Festa coordinator Pat Jioco, she informed me that we raised $1,600 and some change..That's pretty impressive considering that the heat kept the crowds down.. I would like to thank all of the members that showed up and hung in there. It is a long, hot and tiring day. Your enthusiasm and team work is greatly appreciated. I hope next year I see the same reliable and dedicated members that I have seen the past few years, but to see some new faces of our membership. Again thank you all who were there, and for the ones that weren't there or on duty.... Next year...It's a great time for a great cause.

Thanks again.

Fraternally,
Dave Rovetti
